Transcriptionist Needed for Court Reporting/Transcription Firm (NOTE: This is a work-from-home position)
Must be reliable and dependable. It is very important that you be able to meet all deadlines of all assignments that you accept.
Must know very basic legal terminology and very basic medical terminology. Must be proficient in spelling and punctuation. Must pass a very short transcription test to serve as an example of your work.
Must have software to be able to transcribe digital audio and video files (i.e., Word, WordPerfect, Express Scribe, VLC, Start/Stop, FTR Record Player) and have a high-speed reliable Internet connection in order to accept digital files via the Internet.
Normal turnaround time is 3 working days, meaning that you will have 3 working days to complete it. (Example: For normal turnaround, if we send work to you at 5:00 p.m. CST on Monday, it will be due back to us by 5:00 p.m. CST on Thursday.)
Pay is by length of audio, $35 per audio hour, with a 1-hour minimum. (Example: Regardless of if anyone is talking and regardless of number of pages typed, if the digital file is 15 minutes long, we will pay you $35. If it is 2 hours long, we will pay you $70.)
