I usually see one or two transcriptionists advertising themselves when I look through the feeds that are set up to bring me employers looking for transcriptionists. I am curious as to how successful this strategy can be. I think that it is worth a try if you have some exceptional skills and knowledge to point to, or if you are offering a unique service. Here is an excerpt from a go getter that showed up in my feeds this morning…

Experienced medical transcriptionist seeks position with growing healthcare clinic or hospital system working from home or on site. With over 10 years of medical transcription experience in radiology, nephrology, cardiology, hematology, oncology, radiation oncology, endocrinology, orthopedics, acute care/ER, OB/GYN, psychiatric, psychology, pathology, dermatopathology and dermatology, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the desire to produce the highest quality work possible, I would love to help you break your current TAT records. I am proficient with most Microsoft programs and transcription software programs, type over 75 wpm with a high level of accuracy, and typically type over 180 lines per hour. Should my experience meet with your expectations, feel free to contact me at gigi_trevino44@hotmail.com or 210-638-9025 with regard to an employment opportunity. My name is Gisele and I look forward to hearing from you very soon. Thank you for your time and consideration

This is a very well written advertisement. If I had work for this MT, I would be on the phone right now.
